bottle cap wreath
I was (am?) planning on "tiling" a small table with bottlecaps. My roommate works in a bar and brings me home bottle caps (bags of them!). This is nice except I can't use them for my tiling because they're usually bent from being opened. So, I decided to make a wreath for my roommate's Bar.

I started by punching holes in the bottle caps using a nail
Then I created a wreath shape out of a peice of mat board
I strung about 14-16 bottle caps on 5" lengths of tinsel pipe cleaners
Then, I wrapped the ends of the pipe cleaners around the back of the mat board and secured the ends with duct tape.
To make the "holly" I used green and red bottle caps connected with pipecleaners. For the leaves and flowers, I punched two holes in each bottle cap.
the bow is made of a Sparks can I cut up. I would have prefered a more festive car (but strangely, there was only one aluminum can in the recycling bin.
The wreath will be going to it's new home at the Crackerbox in Portland pretty soon. Stop in and say howdy!
